Our mission:

North Seattle Rainiers Select provides the best possible baseball training, coaching, and playing experience to those players and families who seek it. We select players for our program who are driven to perform at a high level on and off the field. These players will see the benefits of being committed to participating with the North Seattle Rainiers Select Program and excelling at the game of baseball.  It is our goal to develop players who achieve success on their respective high school and college teams, and in their everyday lives.

Why Rainiers Select Baseball?

The Rainiers program is different from other select programs.  First, we are a non-profit organization. All funds received from our membership are put toward providing year-round training in our state-of-the-art indoor training facility, team operations, coaching, and other necessary expenses. Because we are not focused on making money, our fees are lower than most select programs.

Second, we invest in the development of all the players we select for our teams.  We support just a small number of teams (typically just one team at each of five age levels – 13u, 14u, 15u, 16u, and 18u) and select players who are committed to working hard on the field and off.  We match this player commitment with excellent coaching from paid professionals and individualized training opportunities.

Over the last several years our Rainiers Select Baseball Program has been very successful in attracting quality players and achieving consistent high-level performance. Our teams have won multiple state and regional championships over the last three years.  The vast majority of our players make their high school teams, and many go on to play college ball. Our coaches and trainers help to promote those players that aspire to play at a higher level.  Most importantly, all our players benefit from our consistent focus on the life-lessons offered by baseball, including resilience, commitment, focus, and camaraderie.

NSB is bring'n back softball! Why now? Well... there are a lot of girls that discontinue playing after t-ball because they want to play softball and that wasn't an option. It's an option now. Starting next spring we're creating two divisions: Pinto (7-8) and Mustang (9-10). In 2019 we want to add a Bronco (11-12) division.

North Seattle Softball is a buddy-ball league, which means you can create a team with all of your friends. North Seattle Softball has open boundaries. The absence of league boundaries allows friends and classmates all over the city to play together while Little League has league boundaries.

In conjunction with USA Baseball and its other participating national member organizations, PONY Baseball has adopted the new USA Baseball bat standard (USABat). Effective January 1, 2018, with the exception of -3 (BBCOR certified), all other 2 1/4" and 2 5/8" barrel bats with a minus factor of (-5, -7, -9, etc.), must be USABat certified with the USABat licensing stamp on the bat in order to be used for league and tournament play. All 2 1/4" and 2 5/8" minus factor bats -5, -7, -9, etc. used in 2017 will be illegal to use in 2018. Tee ball bats are not required to have a USA Baseball licensing stamp.
